About MPS Groceries

MPS Groceries is a Chicago-based online seafood market that delivers fresh seafood to your door. Founded in March 2020, MPS Groceries is committed to providing its customers with the highest quality seafood and the most convenient shopping experience.

MPS Groceries is one of the seafood markets listed in Chicago, Illinois. The business is registered at 340 N Sacramento Blvd, Chicago, IL 60612; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Chicago with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in Illinois may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 am–2 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (773) 964-2853. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, mpsgroceries.com.

Customers rate it 4.9 out of 5 on Google across 175 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded seafood markets in Chicago.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Traffic in Chicago peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Super high quality fish - easy to order and deliver around Chicago. Their salmon is so much better than what I’ve gotten from grocery stores.

Insane quality at a very good price. I paid $10 per pound for this snapper (compared to $13-17 in most supermarkets), and it’s wayyyyy better than any supermarket find. I opened the package and was immediately amazed by this tall snapper. In supermarkets the snappers are usually way leaner and I was used to a long snapper instead of a tall one because of that. I cut out the fillet for some stew and simply roasted the jaws in some olive oil and garlic salt, and omg. Just so juicy and flavorful I wanted to lick the plate! The freshness and the fat really makes a world of a difference. MPS truly delivers!!

MPS Groceries!! Absolutely love them! As a Chicago resident, the free next-day delivery is a game-changer. My orders always arrive promptly and are carefully packaged to maintain freshness. The real star of the show is their selection of sashimi-grade fish. It's incredibly difficult to find fish of this quality locally, and MPS Groceries delivers the freshest, most delicious cuts. I can confidently create restaurant-quality sushi and sashimi at home, thanks to them. If you're in Chicago and looking for a reliable source for top-quality groceries, especially incredibly fresh sashimi-grade fish, look no further than MPS Groceries. The free next-day delivery is the icing on the cake! Highly recommended!

Alex and the team at MPS have done an excellent job pivoting to make their high quality seafood and produce available to the everyday consumer to supplement their wholesale business during the pandemic. Over the last few months, I have placed several orders for produce, fish, and groceries through their online portal, but am always able to reach Alex via email if I have questions about a pick-up time or product availability. The β€œshort list” of items we’ve enjoyed includes Faroe Islands salmon (grilled, seared, and raw!), bluefin and yellowfin tuna (sushi and poke), hamachi, shrimp, Delaware Bay oysters (highly recommend), uni, avocados (what you’ve heard is true - some of the best avocados around for the price), broccoli, peppers, onions, and tons of other produce, nori, kanikama, and so much more. Even in a pandemic, we have been lucky to have some really wonderful days grilling, making sushi, and most recently, learning to shuck oysters for my sister’s birthday! And no, this is not a paid post - I just can’t say enough about the high quality and service these guys provide.
